Metoidioplasty
Urethral Lengthening
Comment about Urethral Lengthening: You have selected standing to pee which means we will perform a urethral lengthening procedure during the metoidioplasty; this will bring the urethra from where it is currently, out to the end of the penis.
This procedure is associated with a 20% risk of urethral stricture (scarring that blocks the urination) or fistula (hole in the mid-shaft of the penis that urine passes through). Some of these resolve spontaneously; others may require more surgery to fix.
Next Question:
Would you like to have your canal (a.k.a. "front hole") removed?
If you are not sure what we mean by canal, click here to see the anatomic (i.e., gynecologic name).
If none of these options are consistent with your preferences then you can either hit the back arrow to change your most recent answer or click here to start over.
