Metoidioplasty
No Urethral Lengthening
Comment about No Urethral Lengthening: You have opted to avoid urethral lengthening. This means you will continue to pee the way you do now (either sitting without a device, or standing with a device).
Once we do a metoidioplasty without urethral lengthening it is extremely difficult/impossible to go back and do urethral lengthening later. There is a strip of mucosa between your natural urethra and the tip of your phallus that we roll into a urethra with urethral lengthening. When we do a metoidioplasty without urethral lengthening we have to remove that strip of tissue, otherwise it will form a mucous ball or abscess later. Still, many people opt to skip urethral lengthening for simplicity.
Next Question:
Would you like to have your canal (a.k.a. "front hole") removed?
If you are not sure what we mean by canal, click here to see the anatomic (i.e., gynecologic name).
If none of these options are consistent with your preferences then you can either hit the back arrow to change your most recent answer or click here to start over.
